Faculty members reflect upon 9/11

Events that occurred on Sept. 11, 2001 amassed thousands of casualties, caused remarkable destruction and instilled consternation across the globe. Faculty and staff reflect upon the day of 9/11 through accounts of their opinions, feelings and experiences.

Elena Alexander, Sports Editor: Print
Elena Alexander (’23) is Sports Editor: Print of The Standard. Having attended ASL since Grade 5, Alexander began journalism in Grade 10 and was the Features Editor: Online in Grade 11. Alexander appreciates journalism for community involvement and understanding and representing different perspectives. Alexander also participates in Model UN and the Student Council. Outside of the publication, Alexander is the varsity girls’ volleyball captain and participates in track and field.
Grace Hamilton, Editor-in-Chief
Grace Hamilton (’23) is the Editor-in-Chief of The Standard. Her love for writing stemmed into a passion for journalism, and she became involved with The Standard in Grade 9. Journalism provides her a powerful platform to inform the ASL community and learn more about local and global perspectives, issues and events. Outside of journalism, Hamilton leads the Sustainability Council, writes creatively and sails competitively.
