Every March, Women’s History Month is celebrated worldwide to commemorate the achievements of women throughout history in the push for gender equality. To honor Women’s History Month, community members reflect on women who have left an impact on them and others throughout the world.

About the Contributors
Sophia Bateman, Editor-in-Chief: Online
Sophia Bateman (’25) is the Editor-in-Chief: Online of The Standard. She first joined the newspaper as a Staff Writer in Grade 9, driven by her passion for informing others and expressing her voice. In Grade 11, Bateman served as the Lead Features Editor. Beyond the newsroom, she can be found leading the Student Ambassador program and National Computer Science Honor Society.
Ella Friel, Deputy Editor-in-Chief: Print
Ella Friel (’25) is the Deputy Editor in Chief: Print for The Standard. She began journalism in her freshman year when she joined the paper as a staff writer, and has enjoyed being able to write stories and express her opinions on the publication ever since. Outside of the newsroom, Ella is the Co-President of the Community Action Council and enjoys spending her time volunteering and playing tennis.
