The structural foundation of the High School was deemed unstable by a representative of the contracting company, ISG, of the ongoing New Frontiers construction project. No High School classes will take place on December 12; the building will remain open for students to retrieve belongings from school. High School faculty and staff are expected to report and temporary work spaces will be provided. High School athletics team’s practices are cancelled for tomorrow; JV and varsity boys basketball will still have away games at William Ellis School. School is expected to resume as normal on Monday December 15.
During construction, the contractor noticed that a beam which was holding up the High School was at a slight risk. After assessing the situation, the school deemed it to be appropriate to suspend High School classes for December 12, Principal Jack Phillips reported.
