Members of Grade 10 competed with Grade 11 in a ba

Members of Grade 10 competed with Grade 11 in a basketball game rematch March 15. The match resulted in a tie score of 14-14.

Lucie Healy (’25) played in the game and said she enjoyed the chance to compete and appreciated the energy from the crowd.

“The game was a really fun chance for our grades to compete against each other, and it was cool to be able to play basketball with people I haven’t really played with before,” Healy said. • Photos by Talya Berner and reporting by Ailish Hermann

CNN Chief International Correspondent Clarissa War

CNN Chief International Correspondent Clarissa Ward presents to community members at a speaker event March 10. She reflected on her journey through journalism, from 9/11 to the Arab Spring to the Russia-Ukraine war.

Sage Saunders (’24) said she found Ward to be a highly engaging speaker and that the event exceeded her expectations.

Hill, who competed in ISSTs for the first time, said it was a rewarding experience.

“It is very exciting to finally host ISSTs,” Hill said.

As a second-year swimmer on the team, Gorelik said competing in ISSTs was rewarding.

“My favorite thing about swimming is getting to be in the pool,” Gorelik said.

The Debate Team hosts a tournament against South B

The Debate Team hosts a tournament against South Bank March 4. Each team debated four times before a judge and the resolutions were determined by current events. Prior to the tournament, team members strengthened their debating skills during club meetings and mock debates.

Talitha Stern (’24) said she really enjoyed participating in the debate tournament.

“I’ve been part of the debate club since ninth grade, but this was my first tournament,” she said. “It was a very fun experience and I’d definitely do it again.” • Photo and reporting by Tara Behbehani
