Best of Boxpark Shoreditch

Best+of+Boxpark+Shoreditch

The Boxpark in Shoreditch offers a solution for anyone feeling boxed in by the typical St. John’s Wood High Street restaurants. The Boxpark offers two floors worth of constantly-changing restaurants and pop-up shops inside converted shipping containers. The Boxpark includes everything from milkshakes to fried chicken. There are 17 restaurants in the Boxpark, each offering something unique and delicious. Soft Serve Society, Nosteagia and COQ Fighters are three of our favorites:

1.) Soft Serve Society is a tiny ice cream restaurant that packs a punch. The store has minimal decor, which makes it feel less cramped. Specializing in sweet flavor combinations and toppings, Soft Serve Society offers soft-serve sundaes and their popular freakshakes, a milkshake decked with delicious desserts. One of our favorites from Soft Serve Society is their chocolate freakshake, which is topped with a brownie, an Oreo, a chocolate chip cookie, a toasted marshmallow and chocolate sprinkles. The regular soft serve sundaes cost between £3.50 and £5.95 and Freakshakes cost £8.95. Soft Serve Society has limited seating and can be quite cramped, but it is certainly worth the wait. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

2.) Nosteagia is a small dessert spot in the Boxpark that serves bubble tea and milkshakes, but it is most well known for its bubble waffles. Instead of a traditional crunchy ice cream cone, at Nosteagia, ice cream and toppings are served in a dough waffle with crispy edges and soft bubbles. Customers can fill these with their desired toppings, ranging from varied flavors of ice cream to sauces to fruit. We would recommend the Queen Berry waffle. The store offers pre-set topping combinations, or the option to mix and match flavors. The waffle was cooked perfectly, and the ability to choose the candy and toppings added to the deliciousness of the dessert. All the food and drinks there are under £10. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m., and on Sunday from 12 to 7 p.m.

3.) COQ Fighters is a must-stop when walking around Shoreditch. The “life-changing” chicken restaurant lived up to its promise and served mouthwatering chicken. Our food came quickly, and all the servers were efficient. The vodka-batter coating on the chicken wings was crispy and salty, which was complimented perfectly by the sweet soy and garlic sauce options. COQ Fighters opens every day at noon, and closes at 10 p.m. from Monday through Thursday, 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Whether one is looking for a quick dessert or a full meal, the Boxpark has it all.
