Guest Submission Policy

In addition to staff-written content, The Standard encourages members of the school community to submit letters to the editor, comments, and guest writer pieces to the staff. These must adhere to the same set of ethical guidelines that all staff content is held to and will only be published at the discretion of the editorial board and the adviser. The Standard retains the right to edit stories for length and AP/Standard style, though without modifying in any way the writer’s intent. All interview-based pieces must first be pitched and approved by the editorial board, where it will go through the full editing process to ensure the publication’s standards for journalistic ethics and integrity are upheld.
