The high school Jazz Bands and Orchestra perform f

The high school Jazz Bands and Orchestra perform for senior citizens Dec. 11. Head of School Coreen Hester also played the piano while the Jazz Band performed “In the Mood” by Glenn Miller. After the concert, the senior citizens ate dinner in the Commons while listening to the orchestra perform.

Cleo Destin (’26), who performed in the Jazz Band, said she had a pleasant time playing for the senior citizens and could tell they were enjoying the music.

"It was a really good experience," Destin said. "They seem to like listening to us, and I could see some of them tapping along. It was a fun audience to have." • Photos and reporting by Zoe Karibian and Lilah Powers

Students in the middle and high school Orchestra p

Students in the middle and high school Orchestra perform at their concert Dec. 9. The high school Orchestra performed four pieces, while the seventh and eighth grade Orchestras performed six pieces. At the end of the concert, all Orchestras played “Carol of the Bells” together.

Luseni Conteh (’26) said he really enjoyed performing with new people, especially since it was the first concert in a long time.

"I mean, it's been a long time since we had another concert,” Conteh said. "So it's like different being in high school and having a concert now because it's harder music, but overall, it's a good experience to like play with friends." • Photo and Reporting By Lilah Powers
